What is an agent?
Agents are AI-powered assistants that do work on your behalf. They can perform actions independently or when you interact with them. They can also help you fix any issues with their own tasks and answer questions related to connected knowledge sources.
Create a new agent
To create a new agent:
- Visit agents.zapier.com.
- On the left sidebar, click + New agent.
- A dialog box will open. You can start with a custom agent or a template.
Start with a custom agent
- In the text field, enter instructions for your agent. Describe what should trigger the agent, what tasks it should do and which apps it should use. The agent will format your instructions once it's created.
- Click Skip this step to go directly to the Configure screen.
- Click Create agent.
- In the Connect your apps step, create a new connection for each app by clicking the Settings icon or select an existingconnection from the dropdown menu.
- Click Create. You'll be taken to the agent's Configure screen, where you can change the trigger, the tools your agent uses, and test the agent.
- Once you're done, click the on/off toggle to enable the agent.
- Agents using the On demand or Trigger via Zap triggers are always enabled.
