Right now, all branches in a Paths step run at the same time. Now, we’re excited to announce that you can run them sequentially instead! In your Zap’s advanced settings, you can opt into the new experience in the Path execution settings section by selecting Sequential execution. When you do, your Zap’s Paths branches will run one after another in the order they appear in the Zap editor (left to right). This does not change the conditional logic of your Paths branches.
Sequential execution unlocks big benefits for you:
- The ability to run branches in the order you want.
- Fewer rate limiting errors since only one branch will run at a time.
- Easier troubleshooting because Paths will run in a clear, predictable order.
Beginning in July, we will begin updating your Zaps to use sequential execution. You will receive an email notification ahead of time and will still be able to switch back to parallel execution until later this year. At that time, we will deprecate parallel execution and make sequential execution the only option. Learn more about sequential execution.
