Team and Enterprise plans let you create a shared account for you and your co-workers. To manage, share, and collaborate in your Zapier account, there are user roles at the account level and within specific products, like Zaps, Tables, or Interfaces. Each role has specific permissions that define what the user is allowed to do or access.

Account user roles
Zapier has four user roles, but availability of these roles depends on the account type. Team accounts include three roles: owner, admin, and member. Enterprise accounts have all three of these, plus a super admin role. There is only one owner per account, but all other roles can have multiple users.
Role | Description | Maximum number of users per role |
---|---|---|
Owner | The user who has the highest level of account permissions. | 1 |
Super admin |
A user with all permissions that an owner has, except transferring ownership of or deleting the account. They are typically responsible for the overall management of the account, including high-level data security and analytics. This role does not exist in Team accounts. |
Unlimited |
Admin | A user with limited administrative permissions. They are responsible for low-level administration of the account. | Unlimited |
Member | A general user of the account without any administrative privileges. | Unlimited |
You should have at least one super admin or admin on the account to assist with account management.

Limitations
Zap steps that use a private connected account override sharing settings.
- Only the owner of the private connected account can create and edit steps using the private connected account.
- Any members, admins, super admins, and owners that have access to the Zap only have view permissions in that step.
- They can also view any information that passes through its Zap history.
- Any other step that uses a shared connected account can be edited by account members who have access to the Zap.

Asset user roles and permissions
There are three possible asset user roles in Zapier:
- Owner.
- Editor.
- Viewer.
Each role has a specific set of permissions for what the role is allowed to do in an asset:
Permissions | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Role | View | Duplicate | Edit | Share | Change owner | Move to another account | Delete |
Owner | X | X | X | X | X | X | X |
Editor | X | X | X | X | |||
Viewer | X | X |
Limitations
- Only Canvas, Tables, and Agents have a Viewer role.
- You cannot duplicate canvases.
- Account super admins and owners have the same permissions to all assets as the asset owner, regardless of their asset user role.
