Prerequisites
To use the Shopify app on Zapier, you must have:
- A paid Zapier plan. Shopify is a premium app on Zapier.
- An active Shopify store account (any plan - Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus).
- You must have app and channel access permissions enabled for your user account.
Connect Shopify to Zapier
To create an app connection to Shopify on Zapier:
- Go to the Apps page.
- Click + Add connection.
- A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Shopify.
- Click Add connection.
- A new browser tab or window will open.
- A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
- In the Account field, enter your Shopify username.
- For example, if your store's URL is

is your username.

- Click Yes, Continue to Shopify.
- Log into Shopify to authenticate.
- Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.
Your Shopify account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations
- API rate limits apply. REST Admin API supports a limit of 40 requests per app per store per minute (increased to 400 for Shopify Plus stores), which can impact automation frequency.
- Input arguments that accept an array have a maximum size of 250 items for all APIs.
- Resource-based rate limits apply. After reaching 50,000 product variants, stores are limited to creating only 1,000 new variants per day (this doesn't apply to Shopify Plus stores).
