You can change ownership of a chatbot in Zapier Chatbots to another user in your Zapier account. This option is only available to users on Team or Enterprise plans.
Zapier is rolling out a new way of viewing and managing all assets in your account. It is being rolled out to users in stages through the end of 2025. In the new experience, you can also manage your chatbot from the Assets page. If you do not see the new design, your account has not been migrated to the new experience yet. You can continue to refer to this guide for chatbot management.
Available on plans:

Team
Enterprise
Prerequisites
- You must be a member of a Zapier account on a Team or Enterprise plan.
- You must be the current chatbot owner, the Zapier account Owner, or (on the Enterprise plan) a Super admin.
Change ownership of a chatbot
When you change ownership of a chatbot, only that chatbot is assigned to the new owner.
To change the owner of a chatbot in your Zapier account:
- From the Chatbots home, click the three dot icon beside your chatbot name.
- Click Change owner. A dialog box will appear.
- Click Manage your connections to share any connections that are part of the chatbot.
- All linked assets will appear in this dialog box. Click the asset name to open it in a new window or tab and change its ownership, if necessary.
- In the New owner field, start typing to filter the dropdown menu.
- Once you find it, select the name of the member you want to transfer ownership to.
- Click Change owner to save changes.
Once you change ownership of the chatbot, you can only view it if you are the Zapier account Owner or (on the Enterprise plan) a Super admin.
You cannot undo ownership changes. Always verify the name of the person before transferring.
(Optional) Change ownership of associated assets
If your chatbot has any linked assets, you must change their ownership separately:
