How to get started with Perplexity on Zapier

Perplexity and Zapier connect to automate AI-powered responses. You can trigger chat completions when new data arrives and generate smart answers.

Prerequisites

To use the Perplexity app on Zapier, you must have:

• A Perplexity account.
• A Perplexity API key. If you are a Member, you'll need to ask an Admin to create one for you. 
• A credit card added to your Perplexity API account for pay-per-use billing.
• Sufficient API credits in your Perplexity account (API usage is charged based on tokens and requests according to the pricing model).

Connect Perplexity to Zapier

1. Go to the Apps page.
2. Click + Add connection.
3. A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Perplexity.
4. Click Add connection.
5. A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.
6. In the API Key field, enter your Perplexity API key.
7. Click Yes, Continue to Perplexity.

Your Perplexity account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

Limitations

Rate limits are enforced based on usage tiers, with new accounts (Tier 0) limited to only 5 requests per minute for sonar-deep-research and 50 requests per minute for other models. When rate limits are exceeded, requests are rejected with a 429 "Too Many Requests" error and limits reset every minute.
