Getting Started with Your Smith Chason College ChatGPT Account – Zendesk

There are three steps to logging into ChatGPT for the first time. If you’ve never used ChatGPT before, you can skip Steps 1 and 2.

IMPORTANT!

You must use your company ChatGPT account on your Smith Chason College devices only. You may use ChatGPT app on your mobile phone, but you will not be able to use it for personal use when logged into your Smith Chason College account. You'll need to switch between accounts on the mobile app.

Step 1: (Optional) Log Out of a Personal or Free Account

If this is your first time using ChatGPT on your Smith Chason College device, you may skip this step.

If you have used a personal or free ChatGPT account before, log out first:

Go to https://chatgpt.com
Click your profile icon (bottom-left on desktop, top-right on mobile)
Select Log Out

This ensures your personal account does not interfere with your Smith Chason College account and protects your personal data.

Step 2: Clear ChatGPT Data in Your Browser (Recommended for First-Time Setup)

Clearing site data ensures your company account starts fresh without carrying over personal data.

For Microsoft Edge

Open Edge and go to https://chatgpt.com
Click the lock icon next to the web address
Select Cookies and site data
Click the Settings link provided
Click See All Cookies and Site Data
Find chatgpt.com, click on it, and remove all related data to the website.
Refresh the https://chatgpt.com page

For Safari (Mac)

Open Safari
In the menu bar, go to Safari > Settings > Privacy
Click Manage Website Data
Search for https://chatgpt.com
Select it and click Remove
Close the window and refresh the page

Step 3: Log Into ChatGPT With Your Smith Chason College Account

Log into ChatGPT with your Smith Chason College account by following the steps listed below.

Go to https://chatgpt.com and click Log In (top-right)
Enter your Smith Chason College email and press Continue
- Example: username@smithchason.edu
When asked how you want to log in, select your workspace
- Typically, this is the first option
Complete MFA if prompted
ChatGPT may ask you a few survey questions. answer them if you’d like
It may ask you to add in some apps such as Office products, etc. You may do this if you'd like as well.
You’ll land on the ChatGPT dashboard under your company account
